Not only are Meagan & Matt a fun-loving and creative couple, but Matt himself is a keen photographer himself, making it a real honour for me to be tasked with documenting their epic day.

When couples ask me for advice on how to get good wedding photos, my answer is always simple – trust. Once the all-important choice in photographer has been made, you can trust the process and trust in the fact that I am fully invested in connecting and jamming with you to create the perfect game plan. Meagan & Matt got this, and they allowed the freedom for me to document, experiment and play. When this happens it’s a damn cool feeling where I can get out of my head and let the flow state kick in. It’s then that the joy in creating trumps even the photos themselves. (With that in mind I must give a shout out to my talented assistant and friend Oli Gesla who rolled with me, had my back, and giggled with me as we made photos into the night).

As a photographer I strive to capture the essence of the couple and their wedding without conforming to tradition, temporary styles and trends or obligations. Meagan and Matt embodied this mindset perfectly, with both their photography as well as the wedding as a whole. They stayed true to themselves and didn’t let outside pressures or expectations creep up and rob them of the joy and excitement that comes naturally when getting married.

My hope is that these photos are a reflection of Meagan & Matt’s true character, style, charm and magnetic connection. The day was a reminder for me personally that when we break free from what we ‘must do’, you keep your compass pointed true North and follow your gut, its then that the magic takes over. It was a joy to be a part of their journey and try and snap up just a little bit of that magic.

PS Lastly I must give special mention to Meagan and Matt’s gentle giant, Samson the Greyhound. He knocked the ring-barer roll outta the park, more than a human ever could 😭

There is something super captivating about an intimate wedding. It’s like witnessing a beautifully crafted film unfold right before your eyes. The connection between the couple, the raw moments shared between loved ones, and the atmosphere brimming with love and joy – it all comes together in a way that leaves you feel all the warm and fuzzies. Also, like you’ve chopped up an onion or two 🥲

Recently, I had the awesome opportunity to capture one such wedding in the heart of Melbourne. A down-to-earth couple, exuding warmth and radiance, exchanged vows in the presence of their closest friends and family. From the very beginning, I knew Bec & Max’s day was going to be an exceptional one filled with epic moments and endless possibilities.

As a photographer, my goal is to encapsulate the essence of every moment, to freeze time and preserve the emotions that speak volumes. Bec & Max’s trust in me and the connection we built together allowed me to do just that for this most radical little stylish affair. The couple effortlessly blending modern and classic elements into their wedding, showcased their unique personalities through every detail – from the elegant attire, to the carefully curated décor. Oh yes, there was coffee too. Great, great coffee meticulously finessed by Max himself.

But what truly made this day extraordinary though was the couple themselves. Their love was palpable, radiating a warmth that stoked everyones fires. They laughed together, shed tears of joy, and they revelled in the company of their loved ones. It was as if time stood still, allowing them to immerse themselves fully in the present moment… despite the ceremony keeping everyone on their toes…

Yep, that curve ball that all couples dread – RAIN! It arrived unannounced, threatening to dampen spirits and dim the light. But these two refused to let it overshadow their celebration that was so long in the making. They embraced the raindrops like melodic notes, dancing gracefully to their unique rhythm. It was so cool to see the simple element of water have the power to strip away the fluff to unite everyone there and ensured their ceremony was cemented in everyone’s memory.

In a world that often feels chaotic and overwhelming, weddings like these remind us of the importance of simply being present, and ground us with what is truly important. They serve as a testament to the enduring power of love and the transformative magic of authenticity. It is an honour to be part of such moments, to capture photographs that will be cherished for generations to come.
